Sophie has been guiding at Camp Temagami since 2011. What she loves most about guiding are the connections made while on trip: to campers, to other guides, to nature, and to herself. While on trip, she loves the still, misty mornings, the hard days of paddling and portaging, and the way she feels when she sits down with a hot meal (preferably corn chowder) at the end of the day, exhausted and happy. Sophie is a student at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and during the off-season, she spends her time working as a yoga teacher, listening to live music, and cooking good food. She received her 1000 km patch during the summer of 2014.
