Crazy Trout Streams

Hello!

It’s Will from Camp Temagami. This session, I had the pleasure of taking the truly crazy boys (a good thing I promise) of the Prospector section out to the trout streams, which is an incredibly challenging nine-day route. These boys are all extremely experienced campers, ready for anything, and they truly embraced the adventure like champs.

We faced something like 14 portages over our nine days, and these boys exceeded our expectations. Not only did they carry and follow our systems well, but they also tackled the tough portages at the end, which we didn’t expect. We navigated some pretty insane portages like Bridal Veil Falls, all very safely, of course. If you’ve never been, it sort of feels like walking up a cliff with a canoe on your head (although in reality the trail is much better than that!). As some of the most technical portages in the area, these boys proved their mastery and are ready for some white water!

There was never a dull moment with these kids; each one of them made me laugh out loud at least once a day! I’m really glad to have had the opportunity to guide them on this incredible journey, and would be thrilled with the opportunity to do so once more.
