The Jumping Cat Loop
Hello,
My name is Tristan, and I’m here from Camp Temagami. I just wanted to share a bit about the trip I had this summer with my group from Pays D’en Haut. We embarked on a wonderful adventure, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
We went on a Temagami area trip and our journey took us to several beautiful spots, including Kokoko, Banana, Jumping Cat, and Skunk Lakes. It was a nice little 85-kilometer loop filled with breathtaking scenery like the cliffs on Gull Lake!
The best part of the trip for me was when the boys were cleaning canoes, laughing, and having such a good time. It’s these simple yet profound moments that make these trips so special. When you have to rely on your equipment for long periods, taking care of gear is crucial to the success of the trip. These boys treated the gear as if it were their own, paying extra attention and care to the tools we needed for survival. I hope this lesson carries with them throughout their lives, as this group’s attitude was distinct and noticeable from other groups my co-guide and I have gone on.
We had such an amazing time, and I can’t wait to see you all next summer for more adventures and memories.
Take care and see you soon,
Tristan
