Session One Tremblay: Adventure to Maple Mountain

Adventure to Maple Mountain

Group of friends at lakeside outdoors.

Hey everyone,

Will from Camp Temagami here! I’m excited to share our amazing adventure from our first session trip. This year, we embarked on a fantastic journey to Maple Mountain, and it was truly unforgettable. Not only was the weather great, but this group of boys kept us going – even in a headwind!

Our route took us all the way up Diamond, around the Lady Evelyn point, and to Hobart Lake, culminating in a breathtaking climb. I must say, Maple Mountain is a hidden gem in Ontario – its beauty will leave you in awe. And the best part? You no longer need to tackle the ladders; a newly cut trail around the mountain offers a more accessible and enjoyable experience. There’s an old Firewatch tower at the top.

For me, the trip was about more than just the stunning scenery. These boys and making memories with them was an absolute blast. I also made it a personal goal to swim every night, and I’m thrilled to say I achieved it! The camaraderie and playful spirit of our group made every moment special.

If you haven’t been to Maple Mountain yet, add it to your bucket list. And if you’re returning, you know what to expect – an incredible adventure!

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the trip as much as I did. If these boys return next summer, I think some white water is coming for them – as they’ve all demonstrated their abilities and are ready for the next challenge.

Thanks again and happy off-season!

Cheers,

Will
