Canoe Camps

canoe campsWhether you’ve been canoe tripping before or not doesn’t make you any more or less qualified for our canoe camps. Camp Temagami offers a range of camps for various age groups, with no other restrictions. It might not be a one-size-fits-all experience, but it certainly is a ‘come one, come all’ invitation. If your child is between the ages of eight and eighteen, consider this a unique opportunity that you’ll both appreciate for years to come. Furthermore, we offer custom camps, as well, where the whole family can join in. Browse the details of each program and see what’s best for your situation.

The thing about our canoe camping is that it’s not really about the canoeing. Of course, we delight in the activity, but it’s more of a means to an end. That end is the transformation that takes place on the water and off. By demanding responsibility and perseverance, canoeing fosters personal growth in ways that the modern world can’t. It’s a journey both physically and mentally. No one is exempt from it; the effects are inevitable, and better yet, immeasurable.

The wilderness may be unpredictable but when you immerse yourself in it, one thing that is predictable is that it’ll strip you to your core and show you who you really are. It’s never wasted time when you’re investing in your character. The potential is as limitless as the sky above us.

For those on the fence about the enjoyment aspect of it, have no doubt about it – there’s always time for fun. The key is finding fun in enriching avenues, and we’re experts at that. Below is an older review on a camp rating website from a former camper who speaks to the overall experience:

“I think that the camp is amazing. The staff is very nice, the trips are phenomenal, and the food amazing. I find that it is a life time opportunity to go to Camp Temagami. You will have a blast; you will have no regrets about going to this camp! Last summer was my 3rd year going. I guarantee you that you will enjoy it too!”

Canoe camps at Camp Temagami are as remarkable as you allow them to be, but even with no effort at all, they’ll leave their mark. We hope you’ll join us this summer for canoeing, camping, and comradeship.
